Blossoms on a Spring Moonlit Night is an epic tale of star-crossed lovers that spans the worlds of men, ghosts and deities, taking a 1,300-year-old poem from the Tang Dynasty as inspiration. In this talk hosted by Prof. Cheng Pei-kai, an eminent scholar of Kun opera, and “the Prince of Kun Opera” Zhang Jun will share the story behind the creative process of this timeless tragic love story, and the past and future of China’s oldest and most influential theatre tradition.
